Yes, same problem with an Asus Eee laptop, AND a Dell Mini-9. Having the same problem the opener had: PC stops on a black screen with blinking cursor. Unresponsive, can only keep pressed power button and switch off.
As a hint, I heard that for Eee there's a mod kernel + script which makes this possible.
