You are more optimistic than I that the fix for the transitory artifacts
will resolve this bug... I agree it may but I'm definitely not counting
on it.
The trunk-rewrite-and-random-breakage branch is what will become 0.4.
I'm not sure if this incorporates the fix yet... I'll need to ping
njpatel about that. But it is definitely something that will get in.
Beyond that there was some talk about putting the fixing into the
current trunk but mhr3 (who found how to resolve the issue) indicated
that it would be a somewhat invasive change to the current core code.
Basically no one has been volunteering to do the necessary work for a
branch that is going to be superseded by the 0.4 rewrite.
Since this is marked as a duplicate bug I probably won't make any
further comments in this bug... I'd move the comments to bug #273326 if
it was possible to easily do so.
