Sebastian: The transcoded mp3 files will often play almost all the way through. Iron Maiden: Hallowed Be Thy Name gets into the final solo several minutes in before dying, for example.
I'll check out MAGNatune and Jamendo and see if I can find something that's already free for distribution, and reproduce the problem. Failing that, I can get you an affected copy of Injection (which I have seen fail), or Bricks (which is shorter, thus a smaller file) if it displays the same error.
