hello Alex jones, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I think that is a configuration's problem, not a bug. I have a Dell XPS M1330. I had the same problem and I solved enabling capture 1 and capture 2 in volume control's preferences. can you try it too?
