I'm having issues with this too, trying to get drbd8-modules-source
built with xen-headers-2.6.17-6-server-xen0. The error module-assistant
gives me is:
make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/src/xen-headers-2.6.17-6-server-xen0'
WARNING: Symbol version dump
/usr/src/xen-headers-2.6.17-6-server-xen0/Module.symvers
is missing; modules will have no dependencies and modversions.
Is there some way to fix this and get the missing files that should be
in this package? Or some other way to build third party modules?

xen-headers doesn't install /lib/modules/2.6.17-6-generic-xen0/build directory
