Public bug reported: Hi,
using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) with a german keyboard layout, it isn't possible to use the "Alt Gr" Key in Java Applications. "Alt Gr" + "SomeOtherButton" -> SomeOtherButton, for example "Alt Gr" + "8" -> 8 (normaly I get '[' ). The bug is somehow related to SCIM (see below). I knew there are some other Bug reports on launchpad concerning SCIM, but most of them only talks about Asian signs. Maybe American layout users don't have the bug I'm talking about, don't know. But for sure everybody else. I also found a fix for me on launchpad from a user with a quiet similar problem, but the report was wrong tagged and limited to netbeans. Here are the links to the report and the (for me) working quick fix: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scim/+bug/212364 http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=23368#23368 ** Affects: scim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Hi, using Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) with a german keyboard layout, it isn't possible to use the "Alt Gr" Key in Java Applications.
