I have the same problem even with the proposed workaround. Here is how I recreate it: firefox (www.yahoo.co.jp) -> ctrl+a ->ctrl+c thunderbird (or openoffice or evolution) -> ctrl+m -> ctrl+v
now my scim-panel-gtk is 96.7% of the system processes and the computer freezes Only resolution is to drop into tty1 and run $pkill -50 scim Then I restart scim-panel-gtk manually Interestingly on a manual restart I do not see any bugs. So it may have something to do with the way scim is started.... Still testing this though. I am running intrepid with all the latest updates from the proposed and backports. I have tried removing these and removing the upgraded packages.
