** Attachment added: "xsession-errors" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20449092/.xsession-errors
** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg This may not be xorg, but I have a feeling it has to do with keyboard input, so feel free to move it. I've been running Jaunty for a while now, but only today upgraded to the 2.6.28 kernel. After doing that and upgrading a bunch of xorg packages, gnome-session will not complete. Interestingly, a new user does not have this problem (SCIM setup is - running for this new user, possibly related?). + running for this new user, possibly related?). Also, if I boot into the + previous 2.6.27 kernel, the problems go away. Because Xorg didn't start all the way, I launched a gnome-terminal from the console with 'DISPLAY=:0.0 gnome-terminal', then took the screenshot and ran the various commands for the attached files from within X. Note that I could not successfully run ubuntu-bug or apport-cli from within this environment, so I read /usr/share/apport/package- hooks/source_xorg.py and did the best I could.
