It's not necessary to upgrade from an iso. You can just change the references in /etc/apt/sources.list from hardy to jaunty, do apt-get update, then apt-get dist-upgrade. Aside from my Dell hanging up for a couple of minutes when kernel nfs drivers are loaded (I subsequently disabled them), Jaunty seems to work fine for me.
