Hello all,
I'm new here, this is my first post. I was drawn to this page by a search on an
identical issue, and I would appreciate your collective expertise. That you
appear to have resolved the issue is particularly encouraging.
Running Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 on core 2, tried 2 different video cards, Nvidia
7300 GT and a 8600 gt. Same results for both, MLB on-board video uses native
drivers quite nicely.

Tried envy both qt and t under several diffirent circumstances, always get the
same thing, a "pulse error" that is perfectly identical to the one T0nnan
reported, right down to the 57.1% crash point.

I tried reinstalling python, but "sudo apt-get autoremove python"
appeared to strip my whole install, and after "sudo apt-get install
python", nothing appeared to happen and I couldn't get the GUI back up,
so I reinstalled, square one...

So, what I really need is a step by step instructional on how to reinstall or
update python, and how to bring back the GUI to see if it worked. If any of you
can provide that, you have my eternal gratitude.
Thank you,
David
