I'm very sorry, but some weeks ago I ugraded to the final version of
intrepid. since then cups and cupsys works fine. so I think it was just some
kind of beta-state problem. but thanks for taking care.

Status in “cups” source package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
ubuntu is not able to configure cups, and thereby cupsys. also reinstalling
does not give a clue. no chance to configure it afterwards through dpkg.
reinstalling gives the following error message:
E: cups: Unterprozess post-installation script gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück
E: cupsys: Abhängigkeitsprobleme - lasse es unkonfiguriert

in englisch:
cups: subprocess post-installation-script returned error code 1
cupsys: problems in dependencies - leaving it unconfigured

finaly the error message tells that there has no error report been produced,
so its kind of difficult to give further information.

versions:
Ubuntu 8.10beta
cups 1.3.9-1
