Hello,

thank you for your messages and for your work on this problem.

I still use the same hardware, but I have changed the OS to the final
release of Xubuntu 8.04. Every week I install updates and security
patches.

The Audacity version I use with Xubuntu 8.04 is 1.3.4-beta (Unicode). It is
dated January 22, 2008 and uses Lame to support OGG and MP3. As far as I
remember the updates which were installed by Xubuntu included updates and
patches for Audacity.

The problem I reported has not occured since I changed to Xubuntu 8.04 final. I
think you have solved the problem. Thank you very much.

By mistake I thought that you did not need or want any answer. I am very
sorry about the fact that I did not answer your mails. I am responsible
for that mistake. Pardon me please.

Yours sincerely

Bernhard Meier-Eckslager
