For those who are having the Evince problem of printing images contained in PDF's, the following bug may help you:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo/+bug/281713 A fix has been added to the 1.8.2 version of the libcairo package (1.8.0 is the latest available in Intrepid repositories). The bug above has a repository from which it can be downloaded.
