Seems like a formatting problem in the manpage. It would be best if the
issue is referred to the MySQL bug tracker, since it also seems to
affect official MySQL RPMs (tested on RedHat boxes, same exact issue
with MySQL 5.x and 4.x manpages). Here's an example of a webified
manpage with the same issue:
