I'm affected too in my Inspiron 8500 with D-Link DWL-650+ wireless card, after doing a release upgrade from Kubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 when I was unable to write or move the mouse and the lights from the computer where blinking. I restart the computer and got the same result several times (after some seconds or inmediatly). I then follow the advise to blacklist the acx, and was able to start the computer without wireless. I could post more info upon request. I would love to post my dmesg but I don't know how to extract it once the computer freezes.
