Public bug reported:

Hi all

I have newly install a fresh copy of 7.04 ubuntu from live CD
I perform a sudo apt-get update, to up date all the stuff
then i try to do a sudo apt-get install build-essential
but i always get the following message.

[sudo] password for user:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package build-essential is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package build-essential has no installation candidate

I have tried with some othet packages, which was previous ok, bit all of
them result in the same message

Please advice
