Can you change your resolution on the fly with a ctl, alt,+ or ctl,alt,- combination? Have you tried to choose your default resolution in the System --> Preferences --> Screen Resolution tool? The check box that says 'Make Default for this computer only' may fix this circumstance.
Martin Bergner is right, xorg is set up to choose among a list of possible resolutions (i.e. 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768) depending on the monitor detection during boot up. As such this is not a bug unless the above methods do not work. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Jeff Rasmussen Status: Unconfirmed => In Progress -- Dapper loads in 640x480 if Aten KVM is switched to another PC https://launchpad.net/bugs/49317 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
