hello, to inform you on what i understood is really the case: -on hardy we have a package which we need to run nearly any app on ubuntu called libcairo. this package was compiled with --glitz enabled. glitz renders the graphics through the gpu of your 3d-graphic-card, like nvidia. which means, what costs normally 70% CPU to render zooming .svg, with GPU it is 1000x faster and keeps CPU low at 5%.
-now on inteprid, this package libcairo is called libcairo2 and it comes unfortunately without --glitz enabled. so your cairo-dock is not usable or works very slow and slugish. compiling libcairo2 myself with --glitz enabled resulted in cairo-dock being able to run with the option --glitz but there seems something in libcairo2 to be wrong and the rendering looks very bad. i guess that is why it comes now without glitz enabled. hope this helps to look further -- high cpu load cairo-dock (interpid) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/245847 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
