Charlie no, I'm not seeing the same thing.

When I try to increase the brightness, I see it increasing two times, exactly 
like I pressed "Fn+Right arrow" two times.
I don't see it going to maximum brightness temporarily.

I had fixed this in Hardy, but I don't remember what I did. Something
with the acpi scripts...
