G'day Anthony, I don't reboot very often, so it was not until I did that I've discovered this:
Putting noapic in the kernel line as an edit during boot works some of the time, but not every time... and yes, I'm very carefull about what I've typed as I assumed it was a typo the first time it happened Putting the noapic parameter into the permanent grub file does not work at all. Editing the kernel line during boot, deleting noapic and retyping it at the end doesn't work either. Please advise me as to what I should be trying so as to pin this problem down.
