I also have a T61 with NVidia Quadro NVS 140M. I have Hardy Heron (LTS) with all updates applied.
The strange thing is that using the open-source driver, I can resume from Hibernate but not from Suspend. Whereas using the proprietary NVidia driver (from System/Administration/Hardware Drivers), I can resume from Suspend but not from Hibernate. For the latter I just get a distorted Ubuntu logo and some screen noise, as if the video mode has not been properly restored. I do hope you can fix these problems; for as long as I have used a linux laptop (and I've had 3 or 4 laptops and several distributions), hibernate/suspend has been problematic. If I have time I may try Intrepid Ibex or a new kernel, but I'm not hopeful... -- Ubuntu hardy does not provide suspend or hibernate on Thinkpad laptop T61 with NVidia https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
