hey i want to reopen this bug because the problem STILL persists in intrepid, and it's very annoying and renders the ubuntu visual experience awful. I'll attach two more files so that you can see what i mean. Take the screensaver solarwinds for example (jiggly variation). It should look like coloured disks doing some motion with blur. Ubuntu has it drawn crumpled all over with corruption lines that it's a pain to look at.
** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed ** Attachment added: "photo of the faulty horizontal break lines" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20079847/Screenshot.png ** Description changed: i have recently noticed a VERY annoying bug in ubuntu. It seems that the graphics show horizontal corruption lines (or break lines) ! I have the accelerated nvidia driver installed, but the nvidia driver on vista never shows this kind of behavior. This is very apparent in screensavers and desktop effects, and especially when showing the "meta balls" screensaver. I captured a video of this screensaver to prove what i'm saying. You can noticed several and numerous horizontal break lines. System description. VAIO VGN-FZ35G Nvidia 8400GT with 128 dedicated RAM Intel Centrino 2.10 GHz - Ubuntu 8.04.1 + Ubuntu 8.10 Compiz effects enabled.
