Hi Steve, Can you just clarify for me when you say "I attempt to install that version of Ubuntu", you mean you are attempting to install Hardy? If this is the case would you be able to also test for us if this issue still exists if you try to do a fresh install of the more recent Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release from a CD? You mentioned you ran the "Check CD for defects" test and it passed so I also wonder if there might be an issue with the CD drive itself. Have you experienced any issues trying to use the drive after an installation?
