ANOTHER UPDATE: After a recent kernel update, the computer behaves a bit erratically. Sometimes the brightness adjusting works right after a boot, but doesn't work after a restart. Approximately 1 in 5 boots is okay, in 4 boots out of 5 i still cannot adjust display brightness... Seems really strange to me.
