Here's a work around that will give you 1024x768 resolution (see attached xorg.conf), but the video acceleration is non-existent at any resolution. From what I have read, the acceleration issue is due to the xorg trident driver being crap. If I could code a new one I would, but alas, I cannot. Xfree86 had/has a good trident driver, but it's not the X server of choice anymore.
