Public bug reported: I am very new to ubuntu 8.10 I have installed all updates, naturally network wired works, I have no Network manager module under System / Administration. I have an HP Pavillion dv6915nr with Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01) and the option for wireless will not come up. I have tried to google and found many things about going back to another driver. I have this laptop dual booted with Windows Vista Home Premium and am really getting used to ubuntu 8,10 but really need some help with wireless connecting. I have read some posts about issuing commands from terminal and going back to another driver (module) or madwifi.
The only driver I have are the 802.11 Atheros lan card and I did get the Nvidia 177 module installed for the vidio. Thanks and sorry for the bother, but I really like the ubuntu.
