Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 8.10, the behavior of the wireless network indicator light has changed for the Lenovo x61s. It is normal for network indicator lights to strobe indicating traffic, but in 8.10 this behavior has changed from a fast occasional strobe to a slow steady flash with even duty cycle, approximately 3 flashes per second. Thus, while there is network traffic, the wireless indicator light is in a constant state of slow flashing which is rather annoying.
Expected behavior: the wireless network indicator light should maintain a duty cycle where it is mostly on and occasionally flickers with network activity. This was the behavior in previous versions of Ubuntu. Workaround: place a piece of tape over the light to prevent nausea. Kernel version: 2.6.27-7-generic Network card: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Using no proprietary drivers. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- network light slow flashing on x61s https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302838 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
