Public bug reported:

I have a Radeon 9700 card and when I try to load the drm module I get
the following:

> sudo modprobe drm
FATAL: Error inserting drm
(/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/char/drm/drm.ko): Cannot
allocate memory

This prevents radeon drm driver from loading and so, I don't get DRI support
with the opensource radeon drivers.
Propietary ATI drivers work ok when disabling explicitly the composite support
but opensource radeon drivers are supposed to work with composite.

** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
