Ok. Here is UseCase explaining issue. Also attached file output.zip where name of files is actual execute command. NOTE: kernel changed to 2.6.27-10, issue still exists.
Scenario: 0. Reboot system (to be sure) 1. Normal boot of Ubuntu Desktop 8.10 2. Login, Xorg\Gnome started. NOTE: Compiz is not installed at all. 3. Normal switch to tty1-6 (Ctrl+Alt+F1-6) and back to Xsesion (Ctrl+Alt+F7). 4. Also I can view last output during system boot in tty8 (Ctrl+Alt+F8) 5. So, then I press Ctrl+Alt+F8 .. i can see only BLACK SCREEN and BLINKING WHITE CURSOR 6. Can switch back to Xsesion by Ctrl+Alt+F7. !!! NOTE: Sometimes by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F8 .. just black screen and return to tty7 (Xssesion). -- new X-session didn't start on ctrl+alt+f9-12 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
