Public bug reported: I have Hauppauge HVR-1110 TV tuner. The card itself works fine, but after i upgraded to ubuntu 8.10 i noticed that i had lost lirc. I tried restarting lirc with "/etc/init.d/lirc restart verbose" and got this: * Stopping remote control daemon(s): LIRC [fail] * Loading LIRC modules [ OK ] * Unable to load LIRC kernel modules. Verify your * selected kernel modules in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf Then i used "cat /proc/bus/input/devices" command to see if my ir receiver is even recognized - it was not.
When i try using lircd -n and irw, it crashes and i get this output from lircd -n: lircd-0.8.3[7843]: lircd(userspace) ready lircd-0.8.3[7843]: accepted new client on /dev/lircd lircd-0.8.3[7843]: could not get file information for /dev/lirc lircd-0.8.3[7843]: default_init(): No such file or directory lircd-0.8.3[7843]: caught signal Only errors i get in syslog, dmesg and messages are those same "lircd -n" errors. If i boot back to 2.6.24-16 kernel, the problem is gone, lirc works okay. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No "/dev/input/event*" gets created for IR https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301115 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
