I've found someone with the same problem at the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=51910
It seems to be a problem with your monitor settings. A possible solution is to install Ubuntu with the alternate cd -- that is in text mode. Afterwards boot your machine into console and manually edit the xorg.conf file to the correct values. Instead of manually edit your xorg.conf file you can also use the command "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" which will bring up a sort of 'wizard' to reconfigure your monitor settings. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Assignee: (unassigned) => Roel Huybrechts Status: Unconfirmed => Confirmed -- Dell GX620 + ATI Radeon X600 SE https://launchpad.net/bugs/49138 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
