I have packaged IPython already, but currently I am waiting for foolscap (a newly introduced dependency) to enter Debian unstable (it's currently in the new queue).
However, you can download the package (including foolscap) from my personal package archive over at http://archive.sp-its.at. You can find both IPython and foolscap in the unstable dist there. If you find any bugs please report them either here or at bugs.debian.org/ipython.
