I'm confirming this bug for rt kernels with Intel DG45ID (G45) motherboard.
Ubuntu 8.10 with all patches applied is unstable if i386 rt kernel is used. The system just freezes unexpected. I was able to login and use the system for perhaps 5 minutes with a couple of processes with heavy disk access running in the background before the freeze so it did not crash immediately. Generic i386 kernel seems to work (modulo bug 137745 and bug 275351 and bug 253786) but may have high latency issues with heavy disk access with SATA disks (need to investigate more). -- Intel G45 X4500HD bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272733 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
