11-16-2008 This bug is still open - I have since installed ubuntu and kubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 32 and 64 bit desktop without any sound problems on the same PC. I have also installed both 64 and 32 bit xubuntu desktop 8.04 and 8.10 but still encounter sound some of the time, that is if I boot its either there or not and not there for most boots. I also that I have sound for ubuntu and kubuntu when running the demo but not for xubuntu.
