I tried installing this new version of Ubuntu 8.10 on the laptop (without enough memory) within SUN xVM VirtualBox with XP SP2 installed as the primary OS.. It installed perfectly except there was not enough memory. It completely installed and upon reboot, politely informed me I do not have enough memory. The only thing I need to do to have Ubuntu 8.10 on this Gateway laptop is another RAM disk (1.0 gig preferably).
