Let me first emphasize that my custom keyboard setup works well but the way I got it working is different than described in the packaged readme- file and different than it used to be in Ubuntu 8.04. I don't request any help but would like to help other users.
The files requested are attached, I changed my /etc/X11/xorg.conf at some time but reverted it later to its orginal state.
