Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince
Ubuntu 8.10 evince: Installed: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Steps to reproduce: 1. Open any PDF. 2. Select 'Print...', then 'Page setup' tab. 3. Set Layout | Pages per side to 2. 4. Set Layout | Only print to 'Even sheets' or 'Odd sheets'. 5. Inspect the results after clicking Print preview. It was expected to produce even (odd) *sheets*, not document pages. So it should be, for 'Odd sheets' setting: Sheet 1: pages 1 and 2 (for 'Even sheets': pages 3 and 4) Sheet 2: pages 5 and 6 (7 and 8) Sheet 3: pages 9 and 10 (11 and 12) and so on. But in fact it produces: Sheet 1: pages 1 and 3 (even: 2 and 4) Sheet 2: pages 5 and 7 (6 and 8) and so on. This is wrong as printing odd/even pages is supposed to be used for manual double-sided printing, which in the case of multiple pages per sheet will produce a completely unusable and useless set of printed pages.
