Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help to improve Ubuntu.
This appears to be a general problem with triggers on your system, rather than a bug in libpam-modules. I'm not sure, but it could be related to the failure of the ufw trigger: Processing triggers for ufw ... WARN: uid is 0 but '/etc' is owned by 1000 WARN: uid is 0 but '/' is owned by 1000 ERROR: found symbolic link in path: /usr dpkg: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 The dpkg run immediately before the one in which libpam-modules fails to configure also ends with an error: dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:221: process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' failed. Reassigning this to dpkg for further analysis. ** Changed in: dpkg (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: pam => dpkg -- package libpam-modules 1.0.1-4ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
