Hi there, I refer you to bug 1 - this is the major problem that most users face every day! :o) There is currently no support for Live Hotmail on Thunderbird, but this is not due to the fault of Mozilla, or Ubuntu, but to the way that Microsoft use proprietary stuff and closed-source programs...grr. Therefore very regrettably we are unable to help in this instance as Ubuntu is an open-source linux distribution. I MIGHT have a solution for you though. Regarding the login problems, when you type email address and password it normally comes up with that stupid request to upgrade your browser, and near the bottom there is a link "Continue to Hotmail". This works for me as I've now had my Hotmail account for 8-9 years. It may also be beneficial to try another browser as Live Hotmail uses a format not supported (for the same reasons as above) in Firefox completely. There are quite a few different ones in Add/Remove under Applications. Hopefully one will work for you. I will Invalidate this report as is it not a bug, but I will convert it to a question and if you have any further problems I will try and help you out, that's what we're all here for!!
Kind regards and best of luck! Note: The above dislike of Microsoft is my own personal opinion and I am not in any way affiliated or employed by Canonical (saving your asses) ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Invalid => Incomplete ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Incomplete => Invalid ** bug changed to question: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/50969 -- Windows Live Hotmai-can not type below subject line, can not access contact list They upgraded me without my permission.
