I mean, we can try to ask the vendor about the new version, but i doubt
that they will answer. And since the checksum is correct and everything
is running fine here, it's kind of save to make this check a bit more
loose here.
Furthermore I was using this controller card with Fedora 8 before,
because it worked there and was wondering what is so different that made
the card unusable under Ubuntu.

I think what happend here is that VIA just released a new revision and
felt about bumping the version number.
