thanks for the report, well i think that's the right behavior, icons on
the notification area should be placed there only to notify events like
new emails, update to calendars, etc but it shouldn't remain there, the
GNOME HIG which is a recommendation of how the programs in GNOME should
be presented says so, you can read more about it here:
