Public bug reported:

I'm running a fresh install of ubuntu 8.10 x86 with the latest updates
as of today. I'm using the proprietary nvidia driver and compiz is
activated. For some reason whenever I press ctrl+c to, for example, copy
text or to kill an app in the terminal the whole X-server dies. This is
a really annoying problem.

Tell me if I need to provide more information about my system!
