I performed some more tests. and there seem to be problems with the Edgy.
I performed both "text mode" and "desktop" install and I foud out the following:

If a "text install" is performed, then the wireless interface is
detected properly during the install, but it is not detected by the
"Network Settings" tool in the "System->Administration". It is present
only in the lspci output.

If a "desktop install" (from the live cd) is performed, then the
interface is correctly detected also in the Network Settings, but even
if correctly configured, it is not possible to connect to the access
point, neither in dhcp nor static ip.
