Laptop with AMD 64 fx-60 dual core ubuntu 8.10 64 bit freezes on startup, freeze occurs when starting powernowd (powernowd_1.00-1ubuntu2_amd64.deb) Occurs for all previous releases of Ubuntu to version 7. Temporary workaround is to remove powernowd but of course the powernow feature is disabled.
