Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

Since installing Intrepid on my laptop (fresh install), I have noticed
that the gnome-terminal occasionally does not update the display
completely leaving either half-lines of text or blocks of the screen
left unchanged. I have seen this happen on "htop" and the "man" utility
(particularly on the gcc documentation). Oddly I have not seen it in
"aptitude". It occurs more frequently if the window is maximized. I
have not observed it occur on normal bash activity. It does not occur
on the normal xterm from my brief experiments. I am using Monospace 14
for the font but it occurs at other sizes as well.

When the display refresh problem occurs using CTRL-L or clicking on any
gnome-terminal menu corrects the display.

Possibly relevant versions:
    gnome-terminal = 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
    libvte9 = 1:0.17.4-0ubuntu1

Video Card: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Quadro FX
570M (rev a1)
Using proprietary nVidia driver rev 177
Display Resolution: 1920x1200

I will post pictures of the corrupt display vs. correct display.

** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
