Completely the same problem (=> villofish), and same laptop :) HP 6735s Ubuntu 8.10 i386
Completely same infos: $ lspci | grep Audio 00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) and so on and on. The sound works perfectly on 8.04 (but there are problems with the processor [AMD Athlon(tm)X2 DualCore QL-60]) I tried: - recompile the latest alsa-driver ... (beep works, no mixer, and no loaded kernel module [snd_hda_intel]) - copy module files from 8.04 (at the moment i've got two ubuntus on my laptop: 8.04 and 8.10) (beep works, nothing else) - install the previous alsa-driver; has the same (beep works, but nothing else) - set so many option in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base - doesn't work OFF, but it is also a bug: wireless(802.11)...8.10 dont know anything about my wireless...lspci does not list this device. Bluetooth works very well, but nothing about "wifi"...chipset: Broadcom 4322 (a/b/g/draft-n 2.0) -- ASUS X50Z (F5) ALC662 NO SOUND https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/282116 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
