This has exists in my Hardy and Intrepid installation. I found somewhere on the web that it's an upstream bug. But there seems to be a fix with changing the pipeline. I watch DVB-T regulary and if I use TOTEM the video is totally interlaced. Same on some DVD's. This an absolute no. Same on Totem xine and Totem gstreamer. The only difference is that one has a box to tick for deinterlacing but nothing happens.
