Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

SUMMARY: Would like to have fullscreen / maximize work across both
screens in my TwinView two-monitor configuration.

I am very pleased with the new nvidia-settings and nvidia 177 driver because
they now include 1024x768 as a default for an external monitor that does not
send an EDID. (This happens because I connect to a beamer / projector through
a black box in an AV cabinet, not directly, so no EDID.)

BUT under TwinView with two monitors (laptop plus external projector) in
the new version, the two screens maximize / fullscreen separately. I
would like to be able to maximize / fullscreen across the two screens.
(I understand that some people want separate fullscreen / maximize, but
it should be possible to choose between the two. (This is a new
behavior; under the previous version, fullscreen went across the two
screens.)

Could this involve a Xinerama option with TwinView?
See "(4) TFT and CRT using nvidia'a twinview with xinerama"

I tried tweaking xorg.conf but fouled things up and had to revert to the
nvidia-xconfig copy.
