I have noticed that if the laptop is powered and is doing something (for
example, amarok's playing a file), performance is also normal.

So there must be some issues in how the acpi thing is allocating
resources when the laptop is powered and mostly idle.

Performance is normal if I deactivate ACPI at boot time (eg: passing
acpi=off to the kernel on GRUB).

Any ideas? This is most weird.
