Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pm-utils
% lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 I installed Ubuntu 8.10 - Intrepid Ibex on my desktop computer that had Hardy - 8.04 (clean, with /home carried from Hardy). Since the move, suspend to ram does not work any more. It used to work more than 90% of the time in Hardy - it was not perfect - it would always suspend, sometimes it had problems resuming. Now with Intrepid, it does not work at all - not even suspend. Using the out of the box (kernel? based) suspend: When I click on the 'Switch Users -> Suspend', X seems to be shut down, but I see a blinking cursor on the top-left corner of the screen. It never goes away. Fans stay ON. System never completely powers down. Using uswsusp: I also tried s2both from uswsusp package. I get similar results as above, only now the blinking cursor is after something that says 's2both: Snapshotting system...' I am not sure where to start the debugging process. ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Suspend does not work on Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
